Community Interest Company

School Trip Advice is run by Foundation Expedition Leadership (FEL) CIC, a group of outdoor professionals who are highly experienced in Outdoor Education.

FEL is a Community Interest Company (CIC), which means it is a declared not-for-profit organisation with an interest in the community. We are motivated to improve safe access for young people to school trips and activities.

Insurance

FEL CIC is insured by Activities Industry Mutual, to £5,000,000 public and products liability and £10,000,000 employers' liability. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Directors

Paul Bond, FRGS, OEAP Adviser, ML, SPA

Paul Bond is a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society, and has over 35 years experience in both the voluntary and statutory sectors.

He is an accredited member of the Outdoor Education Advisors Panel (OEAP), and course director for EVC and visit training.

He is a First Aid trainer, Summer ML, Rock Climbing Instructor and holds various other NGB Awards from the RYA, BOF etc.

He is a course director for the DofE Expedition Assessor and Expedition Supervisor courses, and is an experienced Gold expedition assessor, and is also company secretary, a director and provider of the Countryside Leader Award

Alice Turner, MIA

Alice Turner holds the Mountain Instructor Award (MIA).

She has worked in outdoor education since 2005, training adults and young people in expedition skills and rock-climbing, including improvised self-rescue techniques and multi-pitch climbing in mountain and sea-cliff locations.

She has much involvement with the DofE, is a course director for both the DofE Expedition Assessor and Expedition Supervisor courses, and is an experienced expedition supervisor and assessor at all levels, and works with young people with a variety of educational needs.

She is also a company director and provider for the Countryside Leader Award.

Before moving into outdoor education, Alice was a Senior Physio at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Alice Turner — Climbing Courses

Colin Kirk, IML, SPA

Colin Kirk is an International Mountain Leader and Winter Mountain Leader Award holder.

In addition he has coaching qualifications in climbing, canoeing and orienteering as well as being a First Aid Trainer.

Employed for ten years as Duke of Edinburgh's Award Manager for London Borough of Tower Hamlets but now working freelance in the outdoor industry, he is an experienced DofE expedition supervisor and assessor at all levels

Colin is a course director for the Lowland Leader Award and Countryside Leader Awards, and has over 35 years experience of training and leading groups on expeditions.
